Meet Stella Mamasiyeva

Stella Mamasiyeva, a Piano Voice and Songwriting, composer, and researcher, has made significant contributions to the fields of performance, composition, and groundbreaking research on the cognitive benefits of music education.

Stella’s musical journey began at the age of 13, when she enrolled in the esteemed Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music in New York City.

Attending LaGuardia provided an ideal environment for Stella to further her skills in Voice and Piano. She honed her technical proficiency and developed a deep understanding of musical performance and expression.

Eager to expand her creative and technical expertise, Stella pursued a Bachelor of Arts Degree at SUNY Purchase, a globally recognized institution renowned for its Conservatory programs in Music and Arts. She majored in Studio Composition, focusing on songwriting and music engineering. This unique program allowed Stella to seamlessly blend her classical training with contemporary approaches to music production, resulting in a versatile and innovative compositional style.

Stella’s dedication to her craft led her to earn a Master’s degree in Orchestral Composition from the Columbus School of Music, an institution celebrated for its rigorous and forward-thinking programs. During her graduate studies, Stella embarked on an ambitious research agenda, delving into the profound impact of music on brain development and its correlation with academic success in non-musical disciplines. This research transcended the boundaries of music theory, cognitive science, and education, exploring how musical training enhances cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and problem-solving. Moreover, it shed light on the role of music in fostering academic achievement across various subjects, including mathematics and language arts.
